Digital transceiver in PMC form factor

In addition to the digital receiver PMC products developed by the BBSP team, a transceiver PMC was produced with increased memory and FPGA resources. This card featured interpolating quadrature upconverter DACs, which allowed the users to provide transmit data to the card at baseband rates. The DACs provided programmable interpolation engines, and Numerically Controlled Oscillators (NCOs), enabling the user to control output IF bandwidth and frequency with sub-hertz resolution. The DACs maintained four complete transmit profiles to be stored internally. An open source hardware development kit was provided for the Xilinx FPGA, enabling sophisticated users to install proprietary signal processing algorithms. Very fast frequency hopping could be accomplished by controlling the profile selection from the user FPGA. These cards met or exceeded challenging requirements specified by US and European military prime contractors. This card was designed into ground mobile radar systems deployed in Europe, and an airborne radar systems deployed in the US.
